Website News: We introduced this new-format website July 15th. The plan for this new site is to make it more automated, making it easier to maintain and saving time for whoever manages it. Some examples of that are the Facebook posts that show up automatically on the website anytime someone posts on our Northcoast Miata Facebook page. Another: When a new entry [post] is made on the home page, a short preview of that post automatically goes at the top of the page, while the entire entry is posted below it. These previews can have pictures attached to them and the collection of pictures we can use will grow over time. The posts can remain on the site and simply be ‘pushed down’ by any new posts, so information will remain on the site. There will be a lot of information posted, so the ability to search for what you want to find will be more important as time goes on. So, the search box that you haven’t noticed that seems insignificant now will soon be your best friend. It will give you the option to quickly search for any word or phrase in any post on the site and find it quickly ie. ‘tours’, ‘Sundaes’ ’Merchandise’, ‘by-laws’, etc.
Another example is the events calendar, which is automatically posted and updated on the website when something is added or edited on the Google calendar. Do you know that the calendar is on the site in two forms [automatically]? One is the typical block calendar format and the other is a running-text version. They both have identical information [automatically] and each is printable with selective parameters (specific dates or time periods) with just a few clicks. This is found under the EVENTS tab. If you have a smartphone, you can link the calendar to your device and you will have the [automatically updated] calendar at your fingertips whenever you need it.
There are many features in the site that probably go unnoticed by most people, and we are seeking ways to show them to you to help make your navigation experience the best it can be. We have built feedback mechanisms into the site on every page. It is up to you to use the links to tell us what you like and don’t, and share ideas for improvement.
